A Gang or Combination run is one of the most cost efficient ways to print blister cards. Utilizing 4 color process printing, cards from multiple customers are printed on the same large format sheet of paper. This allows the manufacturer to make one large run instead of many small runs. The advantage to the customer is lower costs. Because the manufacturer is so much more efficient, costs are much lower than a dedicated run. Start up costs are much lower because they are spread among all the customers. The Gang run is not without it's disadvantages though. The biggest problem is color matching. because of the type of printing, specific color matches are not possible. If color match is vital, specific PMS colors can be printed in addition to the 4 color process for an additional cost. Therefore it is possible to get a PMS color match for your logo on a gang run. The hardest colors to match using this type of printing are dark blue and orange. Caution should be used when using these colors. A second potential problem with gang runs is color consistancy. Because your cards neighbor on this print run will not be the same next run, the colors will vary slightly from run to run. Because of newer technology, the consistancy of this type of package is very high, however it is something to keep in mind. Lead times for combination runs usually run 2-3 weeks from approval of proofs. Proofs for new jobs usually run about 5-7 business days. We proudly offer an express run that ships cards in 4 days from approval of proofs.
